The Fall/Winter 2020 Menswear collection of Balmain tells the story of Olivier Rousteing’s internal thoughts and existential questions. Heritage, race and being part of an exclusive upper class society that nurtured him as a child. Rousteing’s unique path of opening new doors and breaking in the crowds.
As a juxtaposition the collection displays symbols of La Bourgeoisie like silks, cashmere and fine fabrics in traditional cuts with the modern style of present time celebrating equality and inclusivity.
The sky and the earth merged together and the catwalk transported spectators to a distant desert as the models made their way through the dunes in earthy colors of wool coats, cardigans and the signature blazer and denim. A successful collaboration with Akoni introduced the new Balmain eye-wear collection.
