The epitome of Haute Horlogerie, Audemars Piguet, is opening the doors of its museum on the 25th of June 2020.
The
legacy of the past with the futuristic vision of the maison will be
unveiled in a spiral architectural beauty that is connected to the very
first workshop established by Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste
Piguet at Le Brassus in Switzerland.
More than 300
watches dating back to the house’s founding fathers in the 19th century
are on display. Visitors will also get to pass by an atelier and meet
the real-life crafters, as they witness the delicacy of time and effort
that goes into an Audemars Piguet masterpiece.
This
immersive museum overlooks and unfolds the success story of the natural
Swiss Jura, a region that has gained global fame and recognition for its wonders in horlogerie.
“We
wanted visitors to experience our heritage, savoir-faire, cultural
origins and openness to the world in a building that would reflect both
our rootedness and forward-thinking spirit. But, before all, we wanted
to pay tribute to the watchmakers and craftspeople who have made what
Audemars Piguet is today, generation after generation,” commented
Jasmine Audemars, Audemars Piguet’s Chairwoman of the Board of
Directors.
