AM: Your royal highness, tell us more about your artistic route
I am a fashion designer and an artist. I have a passion for arts, any kind of art and not only fashion. I love horseback riding and hope to participate in the Olympics. I also do photography, so you can say I'm a modern princess with purpose.
AM: You have returned to Paris Fashion Week to showcase your new collection, how is your creative process like?
It depends. Sometimes I do sketches, not just fashion related they could be paintings or collages. I need to ask myself what I feel interested in, once I find the answer, I put everything on my sketchbook then I start working. From there I pass it on to my team after my idea is complete. I like to do the mood boards on my own.
AM: And why did you decide to come back?
It is something I really wanted. This time I worked really hard and did something concrete. I did it at my own pace by myself. It's like a feeling and a passion and I feel more mature and more ready.
AM: And what was the main inspiration for this collection
The
inspiration is the 1940s female pilot. I love to wear jackets and a mix
between feminine and masculine pieces with a touch of Thai style. I also
added some color and lengths of sleeves. To give you an example, we
have a bustier dress made of Thai silk, we added embroidery and mixed
and matched it with other fabrics. It doesn't scream Thai, yet it’s all
in the details. This collection is chic, elegant and fun in a modern way
to empower women. It has to be comfortable. I haven't been here for a
while so I needed a strong comeback.
AM: What is a moment that brings you gratitude?
It
has to be either fashion related and creating a collection or when I'm
doing photography. I shoot most of my campaigns on my own. I like to
travel; I have nice cameras and it takes me out of the fashion industry,
I go scuba diving and cut out the world. It's my Indiana Jones kind of
moments.
AM: And what's next for you?
This year is tough
because we need to create two collections at the same time. Previously
the collection was based in Bangkok, but now we're in the process of
going international so we're adapting ourselves to the global calendar.
We need to release our Spring-Summer 2023 collection within the next
month but at the same time we have to be ahead of the seasons.
