Dans le Noir?, a brand renowned for its unique sensory experiences in complete darkness, has unveiled its first perfume: an Eau de Parfum de Nuit. Founded in 2004 by Édouard de Broglie, an entrepreneur passionate about diversity and inclusion, Dans le Noir? has spent two decades crafting unique, convivial, and human experiences in absolute darkness worldwide, challenging perceptions and awakening the senses. This new fragrance, a testament to de Broglie's vision, represents a natural extension of the brand's philosophy, venturing into the relatively unexplored olfactory landscape of nighttime intimacy.

The Eau de Parfum de Nuit isn't merely a perfume; it's a testament to innovative creation and inclusive practices. Perfumer Suzy Le Helley (Symrise), briefed in absolute darkness, was challenged to create a fragrance without traditional visual aids. This immersive experience, coupled with collaborations with sensory experts including Tiffany Kendziolka and a team of visually impaired individuals, resulted in a scent that is both powerfully evocative and deeply personal. The visually impaired team members played a crucial role throughout the development and testing process, a testament to the brand's unwavering commitment to inclusivity, redefining professional inclusion standards. The perfume's development was immersed in its intended context - the night - thanks to a diverse testing group of sighted and visually impaired individuals.

Dans le Noir Parfum

The fragrance itself, a woody, musky blend, features top notes of longoza and a clean muguet accord, a heart of apricot kernel, violet leaf, a creamy lactonic accord, and a base of sandalwood, tonka bean, a vanilla accord, Grisalva, and Ambrostar. This careful layering of notes creates a fragrance that is both sensually alluring and profoundly comforting, perfectly capturing the duality of nighttime experiences. 

The design of the perfume is as striking as its creation process. Elena Potapova (Slaviart Project) designed both the bottle and packaging. The weighty, question mark-shaped cap, a signature Dans le Noir? element, immediately grabs attention, visually reflecting the fragrance's exploration of sensory perceptions. The packaging design also incorporates Braille, showcasing a dedication to accessibility for visually impaired consumers. This attention to inclusive design extends to the carefully considered materials and production processes, continuing the brand's commitment to ethical and sustainable practices.
